The Role

Shift Pattern: Varied (2 weeks of days Sunday to Wednesday, 2 weeks of nights Sunday to Tuesday, other days to be worked where production requires)

The Skilled Production Operative will be responsible for working flexibly across all our client’s Print Finishing operations. This role provides complete support to the Print Finishing department, working where required to assure that the print finishing operation works effectively from printed copy wound to disc, supply of inserts and product feeding, production line support, bundling, palletising and wrapping out for distribution.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting all aspects of the finishing department. Main areas of focus include Production Lines (inclusive of Stacker and Strappers), Hopper feeding (setting up equipment and feeding), operate and maintain the Palletiser & Octopus’ and also operating a forklift (training will be given).
  • Ensure machines are loaded and replenished with sufficient supplies of materials.
  • Assist in the manual movement of production in the event of equipment failure.
  • Loading inserts into Hopper/Stream feeder using correct manual handling techniques.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the finishing lines.
  • Loading and unloading of pallets.

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • Basic operational skills
