Specification Technologist - FMCG

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm with flexibility available

This is an opportunity to join one of the South East’s fastest growing food and nutrition manufacturers at a pivotal stage of expansion. As growth continues and new investment flows into facilities and technology, the Specification Technologist will play a central role in protecting product integrity, ensuring compliance and supporting the successful launch of new products across multiple channels. This is a hands on technical role with real visibility and progression potential.

• Own the creation, review and approval of product specifications for new and existing products
• Ensure all specifications align with retailer, legal and internal standards
• Work closely with suppliers and cross functional teams to validate raw material data
• Provide technical input into NPD projects to support smooth and compliant launches
• Review artwork, labels and pack copy to safeguard legal and customer compliance
• Support technical queries, audits and documentation requests from customers
• Stay ahead of evolving food legislation and retailer requirements

• Competitive salary of £34,000 to £36,000 depending on experience

• Experience as a Specification Technologist or in a similar technical role within food manufacturing
• Strong understanding of retailer specification systems and food labelling legislation
• Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach
• Confident communicator who builds effective relationships across departments
• Ambitious, proactive and motivated to grow within a high performing FMCG environment
