Job overviewReporting to the Programme Manager the post holder will be an integral member of the speciality/specialities management team. Working with the Programme Manager oversee the delivery of operational and administrative services within a specified speciality/specialities and will contribute to the Care Group's overall objectives. The Operational Support Manager will assist in the monitoring of operational performance within the speciality/specialities advising the Programme Manager as necessary;
specifically, the Operational Support Manager will ensure effective and timely management of the speciality/ specialities screening standards and KPI's, ensuring risks are escalated appropriately to the Speciality Management team. The post holder will work closely with other specialities within the Care Group and understand cross cutting work which affects the other Care Groups within their Division. Deputising for the Programme Manager as and when required.
duties of the job
- Specifically, the Operational Support Manager is responsible for:
Supporting the Programme Manager with the delivery of the speciality/specialities operational and administrative services. This will include managing an administration team & screening team and monitoring of both national and local Key Performance Indicators. - The Operational Support Manager will have experience in overseeing administration teams, and will possess personal qualities and skills to deal competently with day-to-day operational issues as they arise
- The Operational Support Manager will ensure existing operational processes and plans are adhered to. This will include assisting the team to instigate programmes of work and operational change within the delegated speciality/specialities.
- They will support work streams within their speciality to contribute to the achievement of the CIP target for the speciality/specialities.
- The post holder has day to day line management responsibility for administration staff and screening staff within the speciality/specialities.
- The Operational Support Manager will be visible and on-hand to deal with queries from the administration and screening staff within their speciality/specialities.
- Arrange and chair regular team meetings, ensuring that agreed actions are completed.
- The post holder will attend relevant regional meetings on behalf of the service.
