Maintenance Operative

Oak Springs Care Home – £13.17 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, shift pattern 8am‑4pm (including weekends).

Join us at Oak Springs, a luxury purpose‑built residential care home in Wavertree. Our 74‑bedded home boasts music rooms, a beauty salon, lounge and courtyard areas. We provide high‑standard residential, respite and dementia care for older people, embracing sensory enrichment, individuality and quality of life.

• Maintain the building, grounds and equipment to ensure safety of residents, staff and visitors.
• Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly and annually on systems in the home and ensure external checks are performed within agreed time frames.
• Monitor and respond to fire alarm calls, boilers and lifts.
• Make efficient use of resources for any maintenance or repair.
• Conduct minor plumbing works and maintain gardens.
• Maintain good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues.
• Maintain awareness of Home policies, especially the Fire Policy.
• Participate in Training and Development, both individually and as part of the team.
• Induct new staff by training them on building layout and fire policies.
• Maintain client and business confidentiality at all times.
• Control and order stock; accept and check deliveries.
• Maintain awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
• Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.
• Carry out any additional duties as requested.

Applicants should demonstrate significant experience of property maintenance and, ideally, be able to undertake basic plumbing repairs. The ability to show initiative and excellent troubleshooting skills is required, as the role may need to provide or source solutions to maintenance issues at short notice. Candidates should be reliable, dedicated, caring, patient and have excellent attention to detail.
