Contract Data Engineer - ASAP Start
£425/day | Liverpool | 6 Months Initially

We’re looking for a Contract Data Engineer who can hit the ground running and help accelerate a major digital transformation. If you enjoy working in fast‑paced environments, shaping data pipelines, and bringing clarity to complex data flows, this role should land well.

You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining end‑to‑end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, connecting varied data sources and orchestrating workflows into Azure SQL for downstream consumption. You’ll use Python and Pandas to transform, cleanse, and validate data, ensuring accuracy, performance, and reliability across the pipeline. This role is all about enabling high‑quality, well‑structured data that feeds analytics, reporting, and product‑led decision‑making.

• Design, build, and optimise scalable ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure Data Factory
• Work with Azure SQL to structure, store, and surface high‑quality datasets
• Use Python and Pandas for data wrangling, transformation, and validation
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable solutions
• Ensure data quality, observability, and performance across all pipelines
• Support ongoing digital transformation efforts by helping modernise data processes and tooling

• Strong commercial experience with Azure Data Factory and cloud‑based data orchestration
• Solid Azure SQL skills, including schema design, optimisation, and data modelling
• Hands‑on Python engineering skills, particularly with Pandas for transformation and manipulation
• Proven ability to deliver in fast‑moving environments with minimal onboarding
• Experience supporting product‑led teams or modern digital platforms is a strong advantage
• Available for an ASAP start

• 6 months initial term
• Liverpool (2 days onsite a week)
