Advanced Practitioner - Ultrasonographer

Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Enhanced practitioner sonographer to join our friendly team  ultrasound team work in primary, secondary & tertiary centres across 6 Liverpool sites, allowing a diverse variety of cases throughout our workload. We are a large, busy university teaching Trust with a major trauma unit and multiple specialist medical areas. Our experience in acute patient management and diagnosis is exceptional, priding ourselves on a multidisciplinary approach.

As part of our busy workload our sonographers have special interests in gynaecological, hernia, head & neck, testicular, dialysis access, transplant, lithotripsy, vascular & MSK US. You will be expected to run your own list, manage demand and participate in training. The team actively encourages and promotes CPD for all staff. No obstetric ultrasound is performed in our Trust.

• Our multidisciplinary team undertakes a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations that include abdominal, gynaecological, vascular, MSK and small parts.
• We encourage new techniques and special interests in the department.
• We actively promote CPD and learning, with staff involved in regular ultrasound CPD sessions and attendance and presenting at external courses and conferences.
• Sonographer-led peer review audits are undertaken regularly.

We are a keen training centre for new sonographers with a mentorship framework for trainees and newly qualified staff to help with training and transition into advanced practice. As a university teaching hospital, we are involved in the training of specialist registrars in all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound.
