Overview

We work collaboratively with Alliance Medical in providing the PET‑CT service as part of the NHSE National Contract. We also carry out non‑contract work such as scanning to aid with radiotherapy planning and clinical trials.

Equipment

Our PET‑CT service at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral is currently delivered using a Siemens Biograph mCT flow PET‑CT scanner, but this is due for replacement in 2026. The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool site houses a digital Siemens Biograph Vision.

Development

The department is dedicated to supporting staff development and training. There may be the opportunity for role development in the future, such as post‑graduate qualifications, research‑based activities and/or development of further therapy treatments. You would be required to work flexibly with the department moving towards extended days and Saturday working in PET as the service develops.

Responsibilities
  • To participate in the provision of specialised imaging within the Radiology Department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
  • To prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for investigations.
  • To work within the Nuclear Medicine and PET‑CT teams undertaking high quality imaging.
  • To ensure that all radioactive material is handled safely and in compliance with all local rules and appropriate legislation.
