Overview
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Deputy Ward Manager in the outpatient department. This full-time, permanent role involves agile working between Liverpool, Aintree and Paddington sites, with occasional cover at Wirral. A registered Nurse with outpatient experience is required to join the management team to support the ward manager with managerial duties, change management and clinical leadership.
Mainduties of the job
The post holder will provide visible clinical leadership and be a point of escalation and role model for other registered nurses. You will assist the outpatient department manager with: safe staffing across three sites with consideration for skill sets; rostering and absence management; PADRs; recruitment selection; incident response, among other duties. You will also support development and maintenance of staff clinical competencies to ensure safe and effective care, optimise service delivery and staff development.

- 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- Evidence of consistent professional and educational development
- BSc. Nursing, Health or management related studies or above or equivalent, or evidence of ability to work at that level
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
- Recognized Management Qualification or relevant management experience
- Significant post registration experience across a range of clinical specialties
- Leading service development or change
- Teaching / mentorship experience
- Leadership and/or management development training
- Complex problem solving
- Caring for patients with tracheostomy or laryngectomy
- Understanding of political and strategic health agendas and their operational impact
- Innovative and enthusiastic
