Our services have been restructured to support an enhanced service model under a senior leadership team fully committed to delivering outstanding services and investing in the development of its workforce. This role offers opportunities to rotate across intermediate care physical health wards, inpatient mental health, secure and learning disabilities services.
Responsibilities- Deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to designated wards, providing specialist information and advice to all members of the multidisciplinary team to maximise patient pharmaceutical care.
- Be reliable, willing to learn, able to work on your own initiative, and flexible to support the wider pharmacy team.
- Work on a rotational basis across various Mersey Care sites; the main departmental base is Maghull Health Park and regular travel is required.
- Spend at least one session per week in the Maghull dispensary to develop and maintain core competencies.
- Support the out-of-hours medicines advice service with a maximum rota frequency of 1 in 12, including weekend work in the dispensary from 9:30am to 1:30pm.
- Be actively involved in providing a seven-day medicines management service to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
- Participate in the dispensary and on-call rota to ensure medicines are supplied accurately and timely.

- We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacists with excellent communication, organisational, and team-working skills to deliver clinical pharmacy services alongside multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous hospital pharmacy or mental health experience is not essential; induction and training will be provided. We welcome applications from newly registered pharmacists keen to work in secondary care, or more experienced pharmacists seeking a new challenge or wishing to gain experience in mental and physical health.
- To be eligible for certain roles, DBS checks may be required, and applicants may be asked to enrol in the DBS Update Service where applicable.
