Job Overview

The role involves providing expert knowledge and advice in your specialist area, ensuring the maintenance of clinical excellence underpinned by evidence‑based practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will work alongside medical and nursing teams, predominantly in the Clinical Decision Unit, to provide urgent care for patients experiencing side effects from their cancer or cancer treatments. Additionally, you will deliver clinical leadership on inpatient wards both in and out of hours, including the 24‑Hour Hotline Triage Service.
Qualifications and ExperienceThe successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic about specialist care for this patient group, demonstrating advanced communication, organisational and multi‑tasking skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy, fast‑paced environment. You should be able to support, teach, develop and educate others, possess good leadership skills, and work autonomously as part of a multidisciplinary team. Significant leadership and management experience, including specialist education and training provision, is required.
The post holder must evidence autonomous practice with advanced clinical decision‑making and will be part of a 24/7 service, working long days and nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
