Maintenance Assistant

Overview

Join Victoria Gardens in Liverpool as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities and equipment are fit for purpose, gardening and regularly conducting audits to identify and repair faults to ensure a safe environment for service users, staff and visitors.

• Assist with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
• Utilise good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
• Assist in regular checks and maintenance.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
• Assist in decorating.
• Liaise with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Participate in a 1-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
• Coordinate and support contractors on site and complete all paperwork and tool checks.

• Comply with systems and procedures.
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
• Show courtesy and respect to residents to ensure that they receive the highest quality of service.
• Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.

You will be working at Victoria Gardens, a specialist locked rehabilitation for people with complex mental health needs and behaviours that challenge, as well as a ward for older females. You will support the service to equip service users with the skills required for community living and increased independence. The service is a recovery-based service and incorporates elements of the Good Lives Model, supported by individualised interventions.

You will work as part of the multidisciplinary team which includes Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Social Worker support.
