Senior Diagnostic Radiographer PET-CT

Overview

We work collaboratively with Alliance Medical in providing the PET-CT service as part of the NHSE National Contract. We also carry out non-contract work such as scanning to aid with radiotherapy planning and clinical trials. The PET-CT service at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Wirral is delivered using a Siemens Biograph mCT flow PET-CT scanner (to be replaced in 2026). The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool site houses a digital Siemens Biograph Vision.

The department is dedicated to staff development and training, with potential opportunities for role development in the future, such as postgraduate qualifications, research-based activities and/or development of further therapy treatments. Flexibility is required as the service develops, with extended days and Saturday working likely.

• Participate in the provision of specialised imaging within the Radiology Department at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for investigations.
• Work within the Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT teams undertaking high-quality imaging.
• Ensure that all radioactive material is handled safely and in compliance with all local rules and relevant legislation.
