Overview
Band 7 Gastro Specialist Dietitian, Royal Liverpool University Hospital (RLUH) at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT).
Full time, permanent (37.5 hours).
An enthusiastic, self-motivated Dietitian is required to join the Gastro team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, to cover the new Royal Liverpool Hospital site. You will be one of the lead dietitians within Gastro based in our new hospital.
Experience of working with people with complex nutritional needs is essential. The post holder will develop and enhance the gastro dietetic service, providing highly specialised support to a complex in- and outpatient caseload. You will join our established dietetic team and support service development and supervision of junior staff within medicine.
Main duties include providing a service to the Liverpool region from our new hospital with state of the art facilities including video capsule and transnasal endoscopy. The primary role is to provide nutritional treatment to inpatients as well as delivering outpatient clinics in areas such as IBS, IBD, Coeliac disease and liver transplant. The successful candidate will work with the whole team, contributing to service improvement, training, audit and development of standards.
The post holder will be fully supported by the existing B7 dietitians and therapy management and will supervise B5, B6 and B4 dietetic assistant staff. You will also be involved in the supervision of students, linking with universities to provide learning experiences.

Qualifications
- Essential: BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics/PhD Nutrition and Dietetics
- Current HCPC registration
- Membership of BDA or equivalent professional indemnity insurance
- Post-registration validated training in the specialist area (BDA-validated or MSc equivalent)
- Supervisory Skills training, minimum introductory level
- Desirable:
Non-Medical Prescribing - Desirable:
Supervisory Skills training advanced level - Member of specialist interest group
- Educated to masters level or equivalent
- Leadership/management training
Experience
- Essential:
Broad clinical experience including post-registration experience in the specialty - Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience in supporting learning of other healthcare professionals
- Ongoing personal and professional development
- Experience in training student dietitians
- Experience in conducting audits or research
- Desirable:
Evidence of service review/development - Experience of clinical supervision of others
