Job Overview
Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role rotates across inpatient, outpatient and community teams, providing a breadth of experience across acute teaching hospitals.
Key Details- Band: 6 – Senior Physiotherapist
- Contract:
Permanent – Full time (37.5 hours per week). Shift patterns vary across teams, including 7-day service, late shift and on‑call. - Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum (Yearly).

- Site:
Liverpool – RLH/AUH/BGH.
- Conduct physiotherapy assessment, clinically diagnose and implement agreed treatment plans.
- Advising, assisting and educating staff grade Physiotherapist and student Physiotherapist in routine patient management.
- Effective communication with patients, carers and health & social care professionals, ensuring clarity in all aspects of care delivery.
- Participate in departmental planned out‑of‑hours working and emergency on‑call rota.
- Represent the Physiotherapy Service at multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds, working alongside the multidisciplinary team.
- Support junior staff through supervision, education and student involvement.
- Acute Neurology, Stroke, Acute Medicine, Cardiac Rehab, Critical Care, A&E, Gerontology Outpatients, Frailty, Musculoskeletal, NIV, Orthopaedics, Major Trauma, Spines, Respiratory, Surgery, Vascular.
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- HCPC registration.
- Significant post‑registration experience in a junior rotational post providing broad clinical experience in musculoskeletal, medical, respiratory conditions.
- Majority of clinical experience within the NHS UK.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of contribution to clinical education, supervision of less experienced staff, students or assistants.
- Broad range of clinical assessment and treatment skills based on current best practice.
- Effective and adaptable communication skills (written and verbal).
- Evidence of time management and organisational skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to manage own workload, determine priorities and delegate tasks.
- Ability to work independently, in a team and seek advice when necessary.
- Ability to respond effectively to complex, emotional or challenging situations.
- Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
- Interest in medical/surgical specialties.
