Job SummaryAn exciting opportunity has become available for a full‑time Ward Clerk on Ward 6C, Respiratory Ward at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The Ward is a 28 bed Respiratory unit with a fast turn‑over of patients, requiring the successful candidate to be extremely organised, committed and hardworking. It is essential that candidates have excellent IT skills and are able to speak confidently to patients when dealing with their enquiries, either face to face or over the phone.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for using Trust patient IT systems including PEN dashboard and IPM and ensuring patient discharge letters are sent and filed, and that follow‑up appointments for their next treatment are arranged if required. Enhanced organisational skills are required to ensure confidentiality is maintained and case notes, letters and documentation are kept securely. The ideal candidate must be approachable, committed and kind and wish to actively participate in a friendly and hardworking team as well as directly with the public.
duties
- Answer the phone and deal with patient enquiries.
- File notes, ensure documentation is correct and order documentation required for the ward.
- Ensure the digital boards are correct with consultant information.
- Use the IPM system to confirm patients have arrived for their appointment, arrange new appointments, and send out appointment letters.
