You’ll be someone who can work pro‑actively, managing your own tasks, but you’ll also be confident collaborating with others, communicating regularly with senior managers, Directors, and BDO’s Partners to enable us to serve our clients effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to our clients.

As an Outsourcing Assistant Manager at BDO, you’ll manage your own portfolio of fast‑growing SMEs and international groups, producing clear monthly and quarterly management accounts and cashflow forecasts that help clients make informed decisions. You’ll review balance sheet reconciliations, maintain strong financial controls, prepare and review VAT returns, and support HMRC compliance. The role also involves driving process improvements and supporting cloud‑system migrations across platforms such as Xero, Quick Books Online and Sage Intacct.

You’ll work closely with Tax, Audit and Payroll to deliver a seamless client experience, while building trusted relationships with finance leads and business owners. You’ll oversee work planning, manage deadlines, track time and billing, and identify risks and opportunities—bringing in BDO specialists where it adds value.

You’ll be someone with:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with recent experience in practice or industry
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102, IFRS exposure is helpful
• Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing statutory and management accounts
• Good understanding of VAT and day‑to‑day accounting compliance
• Confident user of cloud accounting tools (eg Xero, Quick Books Online, Sage Intacct) and Excel
