McIver Scott Recruitment, the north west's premier executive search business is retained to work with a established, successful, growing business, in the search for a CFO.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a pivotal member of the executive leadership team, in spearheading the ambitions growth plans. The CFO will be responsible for the overall financial management of the company, ensuring its financial health while supporting its strategic growth initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in growth, strategy, excellent leadership capabilities, and experience in growing an SME.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Develop and execute the financial strategy to support the company’s growth and operational goals.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to define and implement the overall business strategy.
  • Provide insights into the financial implications of business decisions, helping guide the organisation towards sustainable growth.
  • Business Growth & Transformation - Support and lead transformation initiatives, including the implementation of new systems, process optimisation, and scalability planning.
  • Play a key role in identifying and evaluating new market and service opportunities.
  • Help to build a sustainable operating model that underpins our long-term strategic ambitions.
Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and present findings to the executive team.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing actionable insights to improve results.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to the board of directors and stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and transparency.
Cash Flow and Capital Management
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital structure to ensure the company can meet its obligations and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective treasury management strategies, including cash management and investment strategies.
  • Identify and evaluate financing options to support expansion and operational needs.
Risk Management
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
  • Conduct regular assessments of financial risks and develop contingency plans as needed.
Team Development and Leadership
  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources to perform effectively.
  • Promote collaboration within the finance department and across other departments to drive organisational success.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary financial spokesperson for the company, communicating financial performance and strategic direction to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Managing Director and CEO to maximise opportunties
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, banks, and other financial partners to ensure alignment on financial strategies.
Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  • At least 5 years as a CFO or in a similar capacity in a high-growth organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and execution, particularly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on data-driven insights.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders.
