Location:
Wirral (site-based), with UK and international travel as required
Working Pattern:
Full-time, including onshore, offshore, shipyard, and lab site attendance on an ad-hoc basis in line with operational requirements.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PCN Level 2 PAUT-qualified NDT Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking NDT operation supporting marine, energy and industrial sectors. This role is ideal for a commercially aware, entrepreneurial, and proactive engineer who wants more than routine inspection work. Unlike many traditional NDT roles, this position offers variety, responsibility, client exposure, and involvement in developing new opportunities and services.
The role is primarily based on the Wirral and candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate. Travel at short notice both onshore and offshore, in the UK and internationally is a key requirement.
- Carry out PAUT and conventional ultrasonic inspections across marine, offshore, energy and industrial assets
- Perform inspection campaigns on structural and pressurised systems, both onshore and offshore
- Deliver corrosion mapping and integrity assessment surveys
- Manage assigned projects from mobilisation through reporting and client communication
- Maintain strong technical quality, safety compliance and reporting standards
- Engage directly with clients to build trusted relationships and secure repeat work
- Identify commercial opportunities and support business development initiatives
- Contribute to specialist investigative and technically complex assignments as the service offering grows
- Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records and reports to agreed standards and deadlines
- PCN Level 2 PAUT certification (mandatory)
- PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing
- UT 3.1 Plate
- UT 3.2 Pipe
- UT 3.8/3.9 (advantageous but not essential)
- Entrepreneurial and commercially minded
- Demonstrable industrial inspection experience in commercial environments
- Experience inspecting welded structures and pressurised systems
- Experience conducting corrosion mapping surveys
- Understanding of degradation mechanisms
- Good working knowledge of international codes, standards and inspection practices
- Strong awareness of HSE requirements and risk assessment processes
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools
- Interested in varied, technically challenging work rather than repetitive assignments
- Full right to work in the UK and ability to travel at short notice
- Exposure to varied marine, offshore and industrial projects
