This global FMCG organization is seeking a Product Development & Formulation Manager to guide a talented R&D team and help deliver the next generation of consumer‑focused product technologies.

Job Title: Product Development & Formulation Manager
Vacancy Type: Permanent
Area: Liverpool (Hybrid – minimum 50% on site)
Salary: Great salary package with performance bonus.

In this influential leadership position, you will oversee a diverse technical team and drive innovation across multiple product categories within the heated tobacco space. Working within the R&D Innovation function, you'll play a key role in shaping e‑liquid formulation strategy, developing new product technologies, and ensuring technical excellence from concept through to launch.

• Leading and developing scientists, technologists, and technicians to deliver high‑quality prototypes and technical solutions
• Guiding new product ideas from early innovation through to commercially viable outcomes
• Communicating technical recommendations and project progress across R&D and business teams
• Defining and applying analytical and testing methods to support data‑driven development decisions
• Providing formulation support across e‑liquids, heated tobacco, and oral nicotine portfolios
• Ensuring compliance with COSHH and safety processes and maintaining efficient lab operations

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• Strong, recent technical expertise in formulation and product development, ideally within the e‑liquid space (vapes). Happy to hear from candidates with inhalation and homecare aerosol experience.
• Demonstrated, recent experience leading and developing high‑performing technical teams (essential)
• Excellent communication, influencing, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
• Curiosity, creativity, and a consumer‑centric approach to innovation
• Experience with in FMCG, pharmaceutical or a similarly fast‑paced, commercially driven environment
