SALARY- £60,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Instrumentation sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 5 or more years’ of industry experience working in similar Mechanical Engineering Manager/Management role
• Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
• Experienced setting up and implementing new ERP systems
• Experienced managing teams
• Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
• Proficiency with CAD software – ideally Solid Works or similar
• Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, process equipment, hydraulics or similar industry experience would also be beneficial
• Ability to drive Engineering development
• Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
• Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining, fabrication etc.
• Good knowledge of process equipment and ancillary equipment
• The ability to understand system requirements
• Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager role will involve:

• Managing a team working on the company’s product range
• Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
• Taking things from concept to launch
• Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
• Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
• Producing technical drawings as needed
• Driving continuous improvement
• Offering technical support
• Sourcing and selecting components that are required
