Liverpool | Up to £45,000 | Office-based initially, with hybrid flexibility once established
The OpportunityWe are working with a forward-thinking, Planet Mark Certified consultancy seeking a Building Performance Consultant to join their growing North West team, based in Liverpool.
This role is ideal for a technically strong IES modeller who enjoys analysing data, solving complex building performance challenges, and communicating practical solutions to clients. You will play a key part in supporting the company’s commitment to measurable carbon reduction, including a targeted 5% decrease in overall emissions for 2024‑25.
This is a hands‑on technical role within a business that takes sustainability seriously - both in its projects and its own operations.

The expectation is full‑time office presence initially to support collaboration and integration into the team. Once established in the role, flexibility will be introduced.
What You’ll Be Doing- Delivering detailed thermal and energy modelling using IES VE
- Producing clear, well‑structured technical reports for clients and internal teams
- Attending meetings to explain modelling outputs and recommend performance improvements
- Supporting design teams with evidence‑based energy and carbon reduction strategies
- Contributing to internal carbon reporting and wider sustainability initiatives
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Part L compliance modelling and dynamic simulation modelling
- Assess overheating risk and building performance against relevant regulations
- Interpret modelling data and translate it into actionable design recommendations
- Work collaboratively with engineers, architects and project stakeholders
- Keep up to date with building regulations, compliance standards and emerging best practice in low‑carbon design
- 3-4 years’ experience in building performance or thermal modelling
- Strong working knowledge of IES VE and building physics principles
- Confident communicator, comfortable explaining technical findings to non‑technical audiences
- Motivated individual with a genuine interest in sustainability and performance‑led design
- Relevant degree in Building Services, Engineering, Architecture or similar (preferred)
