We are urgently recruiting for an experienced Lead Site Services Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Liverpool. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operation of all site utilities and building services, while also leading and supporting a small engineering team. If you are a strong mechanical utilities engineer with steam experience who is ready to step into (or already working in) a leadership capacity – this could be an excellent opportunity.

• Lead the day‑to‑day management of site utilities including:
  • Steam boilers & steam distribution systems
  • Compressed air
  • Water systems & effluent
  • Refrigeration & HVAC
• Ensure full compliance with PSSR, H&S and food safety standards
• Manage and supervise contractors on site
• Review RAMS and issue permits to work
• Support building fabric maintenance and infrastructure projects
• Drive continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives
• Mentor and support maintenance technicians
• Maintain statutory documentation and audit readiness

• Strong hands‑on experience with steam boilers and steam systems
• Background in food manufacturing or other regulated environments
• Experience managing contractors and small projects
• Knowledge of PSSR and statutory compliance
• Ability to lead, mentor and coordinate a small team
• Strong H&S awareness

• BOAS certification
• IOSH / NEBOSH
• CMMS experience
