Lead Site Services Engineer – Food Manufacturing

We are urgently recruiting for an experienced Lead Site Services Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Liverpool.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant operation of all site utilities and building services, while also leading and supporting a small engineering team.

If you are a strong mechanical utilities engineer with steam experience who is ready to step into (or already working in) a leadership capacity – this could be an excellent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the day-to-day management of site utilities including:

* Steam boilers & steam distribution systems

* Compressed air

* Water systems & effluent

* Refrigeration & HVAC

* Ensure full compliance with PSSR, H&S and food safety standards

* Manage and supervise contractors on site

* Review RAMS and issue permits to work

* Support building fabric maintenance and infrastructure projects

* Drive continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives

* Mentor and support maintenance technicians

* Maintain statutory documentation and audit readiness

What We’re Looking For

✔ Strong hands-on experience with steam boilers and steam systems
✔ Background in food manufacturing or other regulated environments
✔ Experience managing contractors and small projects
✔ Knowledge of PSSR and statutory compliance
✔ Ability to lead, mentor and coordinate a small team
✔ Strong H&S awareness

Desirable:

• BOAS certification

• IOSH / NEBOSH

• CMMS experience
