Role Overview :Project Engineer – Liverpool Area
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering site utility expansion projects, working closely with the Project Manager, utilities team, and external contractors. This is a hands‑on project‑focused role, offering a high level of autonomy and exposure to large‑scale capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering utilities projects in a manufacturing setting and be comfortable working across multiple disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting site utility expansion projects relating to HVAC, water, gas, compressed air and steam systems.
- Utility consumption modelling and calculations using thermodynamic principles.
- Developing project scopes, plans and documentation to support site expansion activities.
- Creation and review of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Managing and coordinating contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site and regulatory standards.
- Working collaboratively with the utilities team and other site‑based engineers.
- Supporting the Project Manager with day‑to‑day project activities and ad‑hoc engineering tasks as required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on utilities projects within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with in pharmaceutical, chemical, brewing, or regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of utility systems and thermodynamic principles.
- Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Comfortable working autonomously on site‑based projects and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style.
- £50,000 – £55,000 salary
