Overview

Teaching Assistants Wanted in Liverpool. We are looking for confident, experienced, or highly capable Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11:16. We need people who can mentor a student through a tough day, and help the teacher keep the lesson moving. If you have a background in youth work, coaching, or previous school support, we have consistent work available. Full:

Time, Part:

Time, Long Term or Flexible Daily Supply available.

• Proven experience working with teenagers in a structured environment.
• An up:to:date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Strong communication skills to build rapport with both staff and students.

• Work 1:to:1 with students who are struggling to stay focused on the task.
• Lead small break:out groups to help students with specific literacy or maths goals.
• Manage classroom behaviour by being a firm but fair presence alongside the teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task and actually complete their set classwork.
• Help the teacher prepare resources like worksheets or equipment before the bell rings.
• Supervise students during lesson transitions and break times to keep the school calm.
• Act as a positive mentor, helping teenagers build the confidence they need for exams.
• Follow all safeguarding procedures strictly to ensure every student is protected.
• Assist with exam access by acting as a reader or scribe for students during tests.
• Provide a quick handover note for the teacher about who worked well and who didnt.
