SEN Teacher - Science (Liverpool)
Are you a dedicated and experienced Science Teacher with a passion for special educational needs?
Randstad Education is collaborating with schools that are dedicated to making a tangible difference in student's lives. We are looking for a full-time, long-term SEN Science Teacher to begin in September at a school in Liverpool.
The OpportunityIn this role, you will be responsible for providing engaging science instruction to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties (SLD), and other complex profiles. Your key duties will include:
- Tailoring the science curriculum to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
- Developing captivating and inclusive lessons that utilise hands‑on experiments and visual learning tools.
- Integrating objectives from Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) into your daily teaching.
- Offering both academic and emotional support to foster student well-being and confidence.
- Collaborating closely with fellow teachers, support staff, and parents.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of student progress.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the school's science department.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience teaching SEN students in UK schools and will meet the following criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant science degree.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to apply for one).
- Demonstrated expertise in classroom and behaviour management.
- A strong passion for creating inclusive learning environments and promoting an interest in STEM.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A resilient and adaptable approach to supporting student's individual needs.
