Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in North Liverpool to recruit an enthusiastic Psychology/Sociology Teacher. The school, rated Good by Ofsted, seeks a teacher who can bring energy, clarity, and subject expertise to the Social Sciences department. This is a full-time position, available for an immediate start, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent post.

Position Overview

The role involves teaching Psychology and Sociology across Key Stage 4, with the potential to deliver Key Stage 5 lessons depending on experience and departmental needs. The successful candidate will join a school that prides itself on strong academic standards, excellent pastoral support, and a collaborative staff culture.

Core duties include:

Delivering high-quality lessons that encourage critical thinking and independent learning.
Designing and adapting curriculum plans to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
Providing clear assessment and feedback in line with departmental and whole‑school policies.
Playing an active role within the Social Sciences team, including contributing to resources and enrichment activities.
Maintaining a purposeful classroom environment with high expectations for conduct and progress.
Person Specification

Applicants should demonstrate:

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent qualification.
Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and/or Sociology.
A proven ability to engage students in academic discussion and reflective learning.
A proactive, organised approach to planning and teaching.
Availability to begin the role immediately.
