Founded in 2011, Steven Gerrard Academy specialises in delivering high-quality football and education programmes designed to create pathways for the next generation of sports industry professionals. Our students progress to UK and USA universities, international and academy coaching roles, and all levels of football — including the professional game.

Operating across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Spain, the Academy supports more than 700 learners and employs over 50 full-time teaching, sport and business professionals. Our Senior Leadership Team oversees all aspects of programme quality, growth and compliance.

Role Overview

The Site Lead (Multi-Site) will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple North West delivery sites. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent excellence in education, coaching, compliance and learner experience, while acting as the primary liaison between the Academy, funding providers, education partners, parents/carers and key external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will drive performance standards across all sites, support and develop staff, maintain regulatory compliance, and contribute to student recruitment and long-term growth of the Academy.

This is a leadership role requiring strong educational oversight, football programme management and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities Multi‑Site Leadership & Quality Assurance
  • Provide leadership and oversight across multiple Academy sites, ensuring consistent delivery standards in both classroom and football environments.
  • Monitor and quality assure teaching, learning and coaching standards in line with Academy expectations.
  • Conduct regular site visits, observations and performance reviews to maintain high professional standards.
  • Line manage teaching and coaching staff, supporting performance development and accountability.
  • Ensure accurate monitoring of attendance, punctuality, learner progress and assignment completion across all sites.
  • Oversee safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and compliance standards across all provisions.
Education & Football Programme Oversight
  • Ensure delivery of the Academy curriculum meets required standards (content, assessment, feedback and resources).
  • Oversee adherence to the Football Curriculum in collaboration with the Director of Football.
  • Monitor player development pathways and ensure appropriate progression opportunities.
  • Ensure completion of all football administration including registers, reports and performance data.
  • Oversee tour management and team logistics where required.
Stakeholder & Education Partner Liaison
  • Act as the key point of contact for funding providers, education partners and awarding bodies.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with universities, progression partners and external agencies.
  • Lead on reporting learner progress to funding providers, parents/carers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend partnership meetings, quality reviews and audits.
  • Represent the Academy at recruitment events, open days and networking engagements.
Compliance & Systems Management
  • Ensure effective use of Academy and funding provider systems (Guru, Moodle, Evolve, Sports Session Planner, Sport Science equipment).
  • Oversee accurate data entry, funding compliance and audit readiness across all sites.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of funding requirements and regulatory frameworks.
  • Ensure all staff complete mandatory CPD including safeguarding and E&D updates.
Recruitment & Growth
  • Support and lead recruitment strategies to grow learner and player numbers across sites.
  • Build and maintain relationships with feeder schools, grassroots clubs and community partners.
  • Contribute to regional growth planning alongside the Director of Operations.
Operational Support
  • Coordinate staffing cover across sites when required.
  • Support identified learners through strategic intervention planning.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Director of Operations.
