SEMH Primary Teacher

April 2026 An excellent opportunity for a resilient and compassionate Primary Teacher to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist Liverpool setting.

Paragon Education is working in partnership with a specialist provision in the Liverpool area to recruit a dedicated SEMH Primary Teacher.

The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, providing structured routines, therapeutic approaches, and small class sizes to help children re‑engage with learning.

This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a nurturing yet structured environment and is committed to making a meaningful impact on pupils who require additional support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated primary lessons
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through clear routines and expectations
  • Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
  • Monitoring progress in line with EHCP targets
  • Creating a safe, consistent and supportive classroom environment
Requirements
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience teaching in a UK primary setting
  • Experience supporting SEMH needs (mainstream or specialist)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
