As an English Cover Supervisor
, you will play a key role in ensuring the continuity of learning within the English department. Your duties as an English Cover Supervisor will include:

• Delivering pre‑planned English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
• Supporting students with English tasks, reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ensuring learning objectives are met during teacher absences
• Encouraging engagement with English through thoughtful questioning and discussion
• Providing feedback to the English department on pupil progress and class outcomes

This English Cover Supervisor position is perfect for English graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, or anyone who loves literature and supporting young people.

• Experience working with young people (school-based experience beneficial but not essential)
• Strong literacy skills and confidence delivering English content
• Excellent communication and classroom management
• A positive and proactive attitude
