SEN Teaching Assistant (St Helens & Liverpool)

Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities | School Hours

We are currently recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across St Helens and Liverpool.

We are an education provider committed to making a positive impact on young peoples lives by supporting their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing. We work closely with schools and local authorities to provide additional classroom and 1:1 support to pupils with a range of SEN.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting students with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
  • Helping pupils to engage with learning and access the curriculum
  • Supporting pupils social, emotional, and academic development

    Primary and secondary schools across St Helens & Liverpool

    School hours (typically 8:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Pay Rate:
    Competitive, dependent on experience
Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Proven experience working with SEN students (school, alternative provision, or support setting)
  • Understanding of a range of special educational needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Two professional references
  • A patient, resilient, and supportive approach
  • (Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential)

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be nurturing, reliable, and adaptable, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils who require additional support. You will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

This role is ideal for individuals with prior SEN experience who are passionate about supporting vulnerable learners within an educational setting.
