West Derby Medical Centre is offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced salaried GP who is also a GP Trainer to join our well-organised and friendly practice. We are looking for 6 sessions cover per week due to expansion within our team

Main duties of the jobIn accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including triage surgeries, surgery consultations, telephone consultations, eConsultations, home visits where clinically triaged and agreed, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Our medical team is currently made up of 3 Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 1 Primary Care Paramedic, 1 Senior Clinical Pharmacist, 1 ANP and 4 GP Registrars and various Resident Doctors and Medical Students. We have 2 Practice nurses, and 1 HCA. We are supported by PCN Pharmacists, GPs, ANP, Physiotherapist, SPLW and Care-Coordinators. We have a large Care Navigation Team and a Senior Leadership and Management Team to offer support to GPs where required.
We hold monthly practice meetings, partners meetings, Vulnerable Adult, Safeguarding and GSF Meetings. We are passionate and proud to be a Training practice and would welcome applications from GP trainers.
We put lots of emphasis on nurturing the team and plan social and training events to support this. We have a monthly Staff appreciation Day and also a monthly Employee of the month award.

Job Summary:
The post-holder will manage and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health. Providing counselling and health education. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Collecting data for audit purposes. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible). Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Other Responsibilities within the Organisation:
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.…
