We are looking for 6 sessions cover per week due to expansion within our team. Our practice offers a well-managed workload and competitive salary. JOB TITLE: Salaried General Practitioner
REPORTS TO: The Partners (Clinically) and The Practice Director (Administratively)
Sessions: 6 sessions per week
Job Summary: The post-holder will manage and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- In accordance with the Practice timetable, undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, home visits where clinically triaged and agreed, and checking and signing repeat prescriptions.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
- Assess health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems; screen for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients, in line with current Practice disease management protocols.
- Provide counselling and health education; admit or discharge patients to/from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous notes; collect data for audit; issue computer-generated prescriptions; prescribe in line with formulary.
- Undertake all normal duties and responsibilities of a GP in primary care.
Other Responsibilities Within The Organisation:
- Awareness of and compliance with practice policies/guidelines (prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety).
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit; contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting.
- Contribute to computer-based patient records; attend training and events as appropriate.
Contribution To The Implementation Of Services:
- Apply practice policies, standards and guidance; discuss impact with team; participate in audit where appropriate.
- Work alongside the practice team and external providers including care home staff, district nurses and hospital teams.
Contribution to Usual GP Workload:
- Complete a pro rata share of Urgent Care surgeries and paperwork after administration has completed clinical documentation.
- Routine surgery allocation of patients; take responsibility for a pro rata share of other practice responsibilities.

QualificationsEssential
- Fully Registered and Qualified with the General Medical Council
Desirable
- Strong EMIS knowledge
- GP Trainer Qualification
- Experience with in a GP triage session
