  • Develop and implement supplier grading and consolidation strategies
  • Negotiate rebate agreements, early payment discounts, and favourable payment terms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and European suppliers
  • Collaborate across business functions as a member of the management team
  • Utilise SAP Business by Design for forecasting and procurement processes
Requirements
  • Demonstrable procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of delivering cost savings
  • Experience managing both bought-in goods and raw materials
  • ERP system experience (SAP preferred; training available)
  • Strategic mindset combined with a hands‑on approach to operational delivery
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and external suppliers
  • Availability to travel within the UK and Europe as required
  • Competitive remuneration
  • Hybrid working arrangement (one day per week from home)
  • Reduced hours on Fridays (finish at 2:30pm)
  • Pension scheme and death in service benefit (2x salary)
  • Management team position with strategic influence
  • UK and European travel to develop supplier relationships

This is a standalone role within a well‑established SME. The company has recently completed an SAP implementation, providing a stable platform from which to drive improvement. The successful candidate will have clear visibility of their contribution to business performance and the opportunity to develop the function as results are delivered.
