Access Centre Supervisor

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead our Admin and Clerical Teams within the Patient Access Centre at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

• Lead and manage the Antenatal Access clerical team, ensuring an efficient service is provided while optimising the use of resources.
• Maintain high‑level liaison with other hospital departments and the Directorate Management Team, highlighting problems or delays with appointments and taking appropriate action where required.
• Update systems (e.g. Digicare / K2) to meet the needs of service demands, such as making changes to clinicians’ templates.
• Ensure sufficient allocation of clerical staff within the team to maximise effectiveness, working in conjunction with the Community Administration Manager to ensure both areas are adequately staffed.
• Monitor current activity and consider changes to future activity to ensure national standards are achieved within appropriate timescales, making judgements on corrective action and adjusting accordingly.
• Monitor team performance and make changes when necessary to ensure effective utilisation of resources.
• Cross‑cover as required within the patient access centre when support is required across other teams.
• Be proactive, problem‑solve and take initiative to support the efficiency of our services; effective communication skills are essential alongside the ability to prioritise workload.
