Customs Administrator - 6 Month Contract

Customs Administrator – The Vault Distribution Centre, Speke.
Shift Pattern: 5 days in 7 on a rota basis, including weekends and bank holidays as required.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Customs Administrator, you will provide administration support to our Customs team, liaising with external partners to ensure shipments to Northern Ireland pass all relevant checks and meet international law compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Work 5 days out of 7 (may need overtime as business demands)
- Cover NI shipments on weekends (Sundays with occasional Saturdays) on a 1 in 3 rotation basis
- Communicate daily with the Warehouse and Maxwell Freight to create and share a daily schedule
- Communicate the planned number of exports for the day to Supply Chain no later than 08:30 am
- Create the daily NI Schedule no later than 09:00 am
- Update and maintain the central NI Tracker
- Post Schedule and updates into the NI Group on Teams
- Ensure Northern Irish shipments are processed timeously, accurately and compliantly via internal and HMRC IT systems
- Support the team to ensure full accuracy of all declarations completed
- Follow up declarations with stakeholders until customs clearance is obtained
- Submit arrival seal photos to DAERA
- Manage data and produce reports using Microsoft Excel
- Complete and maintain staff training documents/PDF
- Maintain customs records
- Complete Supplementary Declarations
We’re looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail, who can work in a fast‑paced environment to keep shipments on schedule and avoid delays that impact our customers.
You’ll Need To Have- Strong administration experience
- Good level of maths (minimum C/Grade 4 at GCSE) – calculations are required
- Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy while under pressure
- Highly organized
- Knowledge of HMRC systems is desirable but not essential
