Sales Leader - Kirkland's Home - Part Time
Overview
The Sales Leader is customer obsessed with strong product knowledge and visual presentation skills. Implements and follows the store business plans and ensures operational processes are executed through collaboration with the Store Manager and team. Serves as a role model and provides guidance to the team in presenting excellent customer behaviors to maximize sales. This position requires a high level of comfort in building rapport through customer and team interactions.
Responsibilities
- Leads, supports and motivates customer selling in both the in-store and online (ship to store) shopping experiences
- Cultivates a customer-obsessed culture that prioritizes selling behaviors by proactively greeting, re-engaging, educating, adding on, and thanking each customer
- Understands your role in sales growth and how you contribute to store profitability
- Reads customer cues and responds appropriately to create an exceptional in-store experience
- Educates customers on loyalty programs, current promotions, and merchandise assortment to support building the basket
- Represents the brand by treating customers and co-workers in a respectful and professional manner while supporting a common goal
- Leads by example, supports, and holds the team accountable to company policies and procedures
- Executes Manager on Duty (MOD) responsibilities, including opening/closing procedures and team supervision
- Assists in freight processing, maintains an organized stockroom, executes merchandise presentation directives, and ensures inventory accuracy

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; college preferred
- Minimum 1 year of management experience in retail or service industry preferred
- Strong communication and customer selling skills required
- Energetic, people- and results-oriented, with a drive to succeed
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to handle and transport company funds to bank locations designated by Kirkland’s, with funds never transported with non-Kirkland’s employees
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Ability to read and interpret company directives, handbooks, and manuals
- Flexible schedule to meet store needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to ascend/descend a ladder and stock products on shelves or hang overhead banners/product
- Frequent standing, walking, and movement of merchandise (including 50 lbs+) to stock and sell products
- Ability to operate a Point of Sale system, registers, and handheld devices
