Client Academy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Designer () to support our internal client. In this contract role, you will lead the design and development of technical training programs to support modernization of apprenticeships for distribution, substation, and transmission work. Your work will support workforce development, ensure compliance with operational standards, and align with Client's strategic goals.
Responsibilities and Qualifications- Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Articulate Storyline, LMS, video production, and web design tools.
- Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands‑on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media.
- Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to conceptualize training in design and content.
- Define learning objectives and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment.
- Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates.
- Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience.
- Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer.
- Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation.
- Receive and incorporate feedback.
- Self‑managed tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement.

- Self‑motivated and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.

- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable working with Office Suite, Questionmark, Author It, and SMW.
- Comfortable working with SMEs online and in person.
- Effective communicator and good writing skills.
- 3 years' experience developing instructor‑led training and on‑the‑job tasks for technical skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies.
- Proven experience performing task analysis.
- Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed.
- Experience with Question Mark, Author‑It, and/or Storyline.
- Client Academy experience a plus.
