Your RoleAs a Preschool Teacher at Lily of the Valley, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students. You will design and implement engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children (2 to 3 years age).
- Assesss each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Prepare lesson plans for the children on a daily basis.
- Comfort arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them.
- Prepare games and outdoor activities that the children can engage in.
- Plan with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
- Accept responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
- Attend all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
- Assist in other capacities that Director, or designee, determines is necessary.
- Monitor the children’s progress and development.
- Plan, prepare, & execute daily circle time activities.
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and craft, music, storytelling, and field trips.
- Prepare reports on the children’s development.
- Read books to the children.
- Have a friendly and confident demeanor and to work patiently with students, parents, and co-workers.
- Be flexible and a team player, ready to engage in all classes.
