Overview
Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is seeking married couples to live and work with disadvantaged youth in family‑style residential homes.
ResponsibilitiesWhile residing on campus for 14 days and off duty for 7 days, Cottage Parents provide a strong parental role model, implement a professional family‑style program, and create a safe learning environment. Responsibilities include teaching social, academic, and independent living skills; fostering moral and spiritual development through a broad array of activities; administering day‑to‑day operations of a large family residence; completing various paperwork and domestic duties;
and working closely with other child‑care professionals as a team.
High school graduate or equivalent (some college credits preferred). At least 21 years of age, married, valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days, good driving record, concern for youth, desire to work and live with youth, and strong desire to work in the human services field.
Working ConditionsThe position requires 24‑hour availability. The work schedule is generally 14 days on then 7 days off, with occasional outdoor weather conditions.
