Overview
The Procurement Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for architecting and executing procurement strategies that directly support our organization's financial and operational goals. The ideal candidate will lead a dedicated team to ensure that every procurement decision is made with intention, driving efficiency, value, and impactful results. This individual will be instrumental in shaping our company's procurement landscape, transforming it into a competitive advantage by driving value, mitigating supply chain risk, and embedding a culture of long-term strategic thought.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies that align with overarching business objectives and drive competitive advantage.
- Develop and cultivate a high-performing supplier base by identifying, vetting, and partnering with profitable and quality-driven suppliers.
- Champion a culture of long-term savings by closely managing procurement spending and embedding cost-consciousness across the organization.
- Oversee and approve the ordering of all necessary goods and services, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and finalizing all purchase and delivery details.
- Lead negotiations on all significant contracts to secure the most advantageous commercial and legal terms for the company.
- Anticipate and prepare for diverse negotiation strategies from suppliers and clients to maintain a competitive advantage in all commercial discussions.
- Systematically examine and manage the lifecycle of existing contracts to ensure compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive ongoing value.
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure absolute clarity on specifications and performance expectations, fostering strong cross-functional partnerships.
- Develop and implement robust risk management strategies across the supply chain, from supplier identification to contract execution, to protect the organization from volatility and disruption.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), leveraging data to report on effectiveness, reducing expenses, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain an optimal number of qualified suppliers to ensure capacity while cultivating a pipeline of alternative partners to mitigate risk.
- Supplier Diversity:
Evaluate the breadth and capability of the supplier base to ensure resilience, foster innovation, and secure competitive advantage. - Secure fair market prices for all goods and services, even in limited-supply or monopolistic markets, through strategic negotiation and market analysis.
- Deliver measurable value by identifying and realizing cost-saving opportunities and reducing overall procurement expenses.
- Manage procurement team resources effectively by tracking and measuring team productivity and efficiency.
- Foster a high-performing team through efficient training and professional development of procurement personnel.
- Execute procurement activities with precision, ensuring orders are placed to maintain necessary stock levels and delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure the integrity of inventory data by maintaining a high degree of accuracy between digital records and physical stock.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or other related fields.
- Proven 2-5 years of working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer, or similar position.
- Working knowledge of supplier or third-party management software.
- Proficient/native in Mandarin is a plus.
