Lab Chemist

Summary

The Lab Chemist I performs qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses to support laboratory quality control, production processes, and regulatory compliance. This role works with various chemical substances, laboratory equipment, and testing methods while following all health, safety, and operational standards.

Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00

• Perform routine chemical analysis of samples while following safety, operational, and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation including calibration logs, run logs, and analysis records.
• Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory analytical equipment.
• Manage and properly dispose of waste generated during laboratory testing.
• Review laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with laboratory policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and communicate inventory needs.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred
  .
• 0-3 years of laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of chemistry, math, and laboratory testing methods
  .
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and laboratory compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Computer proficiency required.
• OSHA 24/40-hour training and DOT training preferred
  .

• Drum and bulk fingerprint analysis including testing for reactivity, compatibility, pH, and specific gravity.
• TCLP sample preparation, filtration, digestion, and analysis (SW-846 EPA Method 1311).
• Laboratory data QA review and internal quality checks
  .
• Creation and tracking of in-house drums and laboratory waste documentation.
• Instrument standard logs and calibration tracking
  .
• Balance calibration checks and laboratory QC verification.
• Daily QC check and calibration using Ludlum Model 3030 radiation detection equipment.
• Tanker truck and bulk solid truck sampling
  .
• Treatment recipe development and testing
  , including re-treatment procedures.
• Radiation monitoring and surveys
  , including exclusive-use truck screenings.
• Air monitor collection and verification
  .
• Experience with Clean Harbors waste tracking and logistics processes
