JOB SUMMARY
The Donation Services Associate I is typically the first point of contact for customers dropping off items at retail centers. This role involves providing excellent and friendly customer service by greeting customers promptly, assisting with lifting or unloading donations from vehicles or other areas, handling donated goods with care, and ensuring they are sorted into appropriate bins or production areas. Associates are expected to maintain a safe, organized, and clean environment for customers and employees, and may be required to support remote donation centers by following opening and closing procedures and keeping supplies stocked.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a timely manner and answering product questions as needed.
- Assist every customer by unloading donations from vehicles or other areas.
- Ensure donated items are handled with care and sorted into appropriate bins or production areas.
- Inspect all donations within assigned areas and make decisions on quality to sort appropriately for the sales floor or to be shipped to other locations.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and clean environment is maintained for both customers and fellow employees within the donations entrance and parking lot areas.
- Maintain remote donation center shed and trailer, following appropriate opening and closing procedures when working at a remote site.
- Ensure supplies are kept well stocked at remote site(s) as necessary.
- Track and report donation levels daily to ensure trailers do not become over‑stocked when working in remote donation center locations.
- Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Cross‑train in other departments or areas; act as a back‑up for other areas as required.
- Perform other duties as required by the position.

Education- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- One (1) year of retail experience preferred.
- Must be able to make decisions by following Goodwill standards and guidelines.
- Must have basic computer skills to log into a computer system to order supplies and to send and receive email.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to use safety equipment to assist with lifting heavy objects such as a dolly or pallet jack.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.

PAY & BENEFITSPay: $16.15 hourly. Daily Pay is available through Daily Pay, a voluntary benefit. Full‑time employees are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Short‑Term Disability, Life/Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Flexible Spending Accounts, Long‑Term Disability, and other voluntary supplemental benefits. WORKHOURS
Duties at retail centers are Monday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.
