* + Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery.

+ Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies.

+ Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues.

+ Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.

+ Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.

+ Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.
