FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Nights

Pay: $37.06 - $57.44 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary

Coordinates transfers from outside facilities. Handles patient placement, incorporating clinical data. Expedites movement of patients throughout the healthcare system.

Responsibilities
  • Provides coordination of patient movement. Ensures timely coordination of transfer and discharge; communicates actions with physicians.
  • Arranges admissions and transfers according to system procedures.
  • Confirms medical necessity, appropriate level of care and legal and regulatory compliance with admission. Acts as a resource for EMTALA transfers.
  • Obtains clinical acceptance or denial of transfer. Documents admission and patient placement. Trains new personnel and other staff.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support Registered Nurse
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience. Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
    State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
    2 years of experience in critical care or ED setting.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
