Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager. This is a remote role for candidates currently residing in Salt Lake City, UT or Denver, CO. Relocation is not provided for this position.
Salary: $114,000 - $167,000 a year, eligible for variable incentive program. Salaries are based on experience, qualifications, market and business considerations.
What You’ll DoReporting directly to the District Sales Manager, North America – Eaton GEIS business, this role will develop and implement the territory’s growth strategy, focus on product specification, conversion, and gather voice of the customer for new product development opportunities. The Area Sales Manager will lead, direct and develop a team of sales representatives responsible for achieving sales and margin goals while managing agents, channel partners and end users.
InThis Role You Will
- Execute the area sales growth strategy, in alignment with overall district, region and business strategy.
- Communicate a compelling strategic value proposition through sales agents, distributors, specifiers, and end-users.
- Plan and direct the efforts of the territory sales teams in securing sales volume through conversion, channel management, capital projects and specifying activities.
- Gather and leverage the voice of customer to recommend new or modified programs to maintain a competitive position.
- Use negotiation skills to influence and resolve complex problems, influencing all stakeholders to drive results.
- Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, and hold accountable by providing timely coaching and feedback.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in the electrical industry.
- No relocation is offered; candidates must currently reside in Salt Lake City, UT or Denver, CO. Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographic limitation.

- Minimum of one (1) year of people management experience.
- Advanced degree preferred, from an accredited institution.
- Entrepreneurial leader with proven track record of leading and developing teams through various aspects of the business cycle.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills; ability to establish and maintain relationships.
- Superior organizational agility; ability to influence and engage reports, peers, and customers.
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience.
- Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
