ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER

LOCATION: Branch DIVISION: Branch Sales & Service

Function

FUNCTION

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for leading all aspects of customer relationships delivered through the branch. Ensures compliance with operational procedures. Responsible for audit scores. Supports branch sales and service goals by training, coaching and developing Member Service Advisor staff, as well as setting a good example by meeting own goals. Responsible for branch goals. Resolves escalated issues keeping Branch Manager informed. Serves as back-up underwriter for the branch.

Assumes managerial duties in the absence of the Branch Manager.

Branch Manager

Supervises:
Indirectly, all Branch positions;
Directly Member Service Advocates 1 and 2

Contacts:
Credit union members, other credit union branches/departments, credit union officials, auditors, vendors, local community members and businesses and all internal staff.

Qualifications / Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor s degree in Business/Finance or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

Prefer 4+ years teller / operations experience.

Two years sales and customer service preferably in financial services.

Three years supervisory/management experience

Skills:

Loan experience preferred.

Strong interpersonal, sales, and relationship management skills

Strong written, verbal and communication skills

Ability to provide leadership and handle multiple priorities under time constraints

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications

Essential Functions
  • Provides a valuable and enjoyable experience to both internal customers and members during interactions. Consistently suggests ways to improve the member/customer experience through improved processes and technology.
  • Manage branch staff including hiring, performance management, conducting monthly one-on-ones, writing reviews and making salary recommendations.
  • Gains and maintains a strong knowledge of Bellco products and services and can accurately enter and complete transactions, loan applications and account openings in Bellco systems.
  • Ensures established branch goals and metrics are met including goals for other business groups/partners that work with the branch (i.e. wealth management). Motivates staff to success.
  • Conducts daily huddles and monthly one-on-ones with branch staff.
  • Maintain positive relationships with other departments, which may include (but are not limited to):
    Legal Compliance, Human Resources, Operations Teams
  • Evaluates, develops, motivates and trains branch personnel, coaches staff in sales and service activities. Ensures branch staff has strong product and process knowledge.
  • Successfully recruits, hires, trains and navigates performance issues, etc. Proactively mitigates risk for Bellco through sound leadership, communication, and guidance of decisions made within the branch. Partners with Regional Director and Human Resources appropriately.
  • Manage operations of the branch, including responsibility for audit scores. Ensure compliance with Operational Procedure Manuals. Ensure monthly branch audits are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Produce daily, weekly & monthly audit reports.
  • Manages losses and other risk issues and ensures financial losses are within acceptable guidelines.
  • Ensures branch effectiveness and adherence to all branch operations, procedures, and compliance.
