SummaryWe have a current opportunity for a Manufacturing and Test Technician, Level II
, located at our facility in Littleton, CO. Breakdown of role will be ~ 30% Production & 70% Test. You will assist engineers in the manufacture and test of prototype and flight hardware. Responsible for setting up and operating equipment, and assembly and test of hardware, while adhering to pre-established guidelines and specifications. Relies on knowledge of the field, judgement and previous experience to perform the functions of the job.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works independently and under limited supervision and engineering guidance within the scope of projects. Requires experience and knowledge of industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of aerospace, engineering and/or science.
- Perform environmental testing of aerospace mechanisms using established procedures. Tests include static load, thermal vacuum, benchtop operation, separation, shock, and vibration.
- Operate spaceflight hardware and test fixtures using data acquisition system and established procedures.
- Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware.
- Inspect mechanical and electrical components after test completion.
- Perform maintenance on test fixtures.
- Idea generation of potential process improvements.
- Assist with non-conformance investigations.
- Fabricate, assemble, and test space system hardware and ground support equipment with direction from engineering.
- Work with engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical issues.
- Aid with developing and documenting prototype concepts, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures.
- Assist in generating and maintaining technical design and process documentation in an AS9100 Quality Management System.
- Perform manufacturing assembly procedures, rework, and repair on spaceflight hardware.
- Identify faulty parts during the assembly process.
- Cross train in multiple areas of specialty such as electrical assembly and soldering, structural testing, etc.
- Model exemplary professional conduct as a representative of Redwire.
- Willingness to support off-site work as needed w/potential 25% travel and/or off-site support throughout the week.
- High school diploma with or 4 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in an aerospace environment strongly preferred.
- Familiar with technical drawings and schematics, and the various symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layouts used in technical drawings.
- Familiarity with inspection equipment such as calipers/micrometers, dial indicators, gauge pins and blocks, etc.
- Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts.
- Experience soldering under microscope.
- US Citizenship required.
- High mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Extensive knowledge of field. Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
- Experienced with mechanical assembly of flight hardware
- High mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities.
- Listen, communicate, and collaborate with production team manager, supervisor and team lead
- High standard of quality workmanship
- Experience with electrical fabrication, advanced soldering, and wire harness assembly
- Use of a variety of manual and electronic equipment
- Current, IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum and IPC/WHMA-A-620 with Space Addendum certifications
- Working knowledge of standards including GD&T, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, NASA-STD-8739.1, and NASA-STD-8739.4
