What does this role look like?SPP Alpha is looking for a mechanical system engineer to join a fast growing, dynamic program that develops cutting‑edge space technologies.
Responsibilities- Drive mechanical design execution through CDR and production phases.
- Support development efforts of future blocks.
- Accountable for mechanical design, analyses, and test plan execution.
- Coordinate and collaborate with RSEs and CPEs across the program.
- Develop integration and test plans.
- Chair the program’s Mass Properties Control Board; evaluate mass allocations and trades between components and within segments.
- Systems engineering experience with a focus on mechanical deliverables throughout the systems lifecycle.
- Experience defining and documenting mechanical system interfaces.
- Experience with CAD modeling and drafting.
- Experience with spacecraft design.
- Experience with mechanical integration, assembly, and test.
- Active or current Top Secret clearance or equivalent (i.e. DoE Q) required to start.
- Design for Integration/Testability (DFM) experience.
- Experience with executing towards a System CDR.
This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US citizen for consideration.
LocationOnsite full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

PayThe annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510.
