E1414:
Mechanical Engineer Stf
Space is a critical domain, connecting our technologies, our security and our humanity. While others view space as a destination, we see it as a realm of possibilities, where we can do more — we can innovate, invest, inspire and integrate our capabilities to transform the future. At Lockheed Martin Space, we aim to harness the full potential of space to cultivate innovation, reduce costs, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve.
We’re creating future-ready solutions, focusing on resiliency and urgency through our 21st Century Security® vision. We’re erasing boundaries and forming partnerships across industries and around the world. We’re advancing spacecraft and the workforce to fuel the next generation. And we’re reimagining how space can connect us, ensuring security and prosperity. Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.
We are currently seeking Mechanical Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) to join our team. In this role you will:
- Design hardware, mechanical/structural components, and subsystems aligned with customer requirements and LM Space standard methodologies in activities related to developing, revising, and releasing engineering drawings.
- Design using Creo/Pro-E to develop and release engineering designs including CAD objects using EPDM processes (or equivalent).
- Coordinate engineering design packages with program PMP, stress, systems engineering, checking, manufacturing, product assurance, and configuration and data management as a minimum; specify engineering approvers; change task development in EPDM would be a plus but not necessary.
- Implement strict CAD modeling standards; utilize "model-check" tools and resolve design issues to meet modeling standards.
- Design components and subsystems using interfaces from a master CAD model.
- Develop, integrate component and subsystem designs as part of the single master target CAD model.
- Incorporate redlines, complete drawing and model changes, federate parts and materials, and coordinate changes for release in EPDM.
- Handle aspects of product acceptance reviews, project management, and responsible engineer (Certified Principal Engineer or equivalent) functions. Some travel may be required.
- Experienced with CREO
- Experience using EPDM Windchill, SAP, and design tools
- Experience mentoring junior engineers
- Cost account management (CAM) experience
- Knowledge of command media related to system analyses
- Experience with basic Engineering analysis and tolerance stack-ups
- Experience designing within a fast paced production environment
